Just went to see Song Dong's show at the Barbican. A meticulously laid out collection of decades worth of bits and pieces, it exemplifies the older communist Chinese need and pressure to scrounge and save. Not just a memorial to stuff and consumption it memorialises memories from the banal everyday of eras and loved ones past.
